April Enderton



First Vice-President

April Enderton joined the National Federation of the Blind in 2006 and joined the Writers' Division that same year at her first national convention in Dallas. In 2007, April was elected president of the Des Moines Iowa Chapter and in 2008, she was elected first vice president of her state affiliate.

April has written a couple novels, yet to be published. She has also had an article published in Iowa Parent Magazine and served as the newsletter editor for a family-centered childbirth organization. April has seven children and seven grandchildren. April is a graduate of Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa and works for American Red Cross as a crisis counselor and 2-1-1 Information and Referral Specialist. In her sparetime, April brailles children's books which she donates to the Braille Book Flea Market at national convention.
