Robert Leslie Newman

Bio

As President of the National Federation of the Blind Writers' Division, Robert Leslie Newman's focus in writing is the examination of various blindness related issues with the intent to change what it means to be blind. He is best known for His decade old blindness discussion forum, THOUGHT PROVOKER; website address http://www.thoughtprovoker.info. He has also produced articles of a informational and inspirational nature which have appeared in a variety of blindness publications, and in Slate & Style the Newsletter of the National Federation of the Blind Writers' Division.

Professionally Robert is a 35 year veteran Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired. He is blind as a result of a car accident at age 15. Robert's presidency of the Division began in July of 2007. "I wish to build the Writers' Division into a haven for members to find the support and encouragement to develop their craft."
